To remove tilapia, a trap is used that allows fish in but confuses it so that they have a hard time coming out.

Dog food was put in the trap to attract fish, then a big fallen tree branch with leaves on it was placed over it to provide shade, then waited two hours before bringing the trap out again.

Fish were emptied from the trap into a bucket with water, where fish were grabbed and put it on a bucket to measure its length with a ruler, then on a scale to weigh it.
